Southern Thai food อาหารปักษ์ใต้ combines influences from Chinese, Thai, Malaysian, South Asian, and West Asian cultures into a regional cuisine of its own. Secure your seat to join us for a vegan Southern Thai feast.

This supper club follows the same format as my gap khao supper club, but focuses entirely on Southern Thai foods.
Shaped by foreign influences, yet distinctly Thai in character, Southern Thai cuisine is known for its bold, fiery flavours. But the food of Southern Thailand is more than just chillies; its flavours also revolve around other key ingredients like salt, tart fruits, black peppercorns, fresh turmeric, rich coconut, and funky ferments.
This is a family style meal with a variety of contrasting dishes served with unlimited jasmine rice. Prepare for a feast featuring an array of plates with a mosaic of textures, flavours, temperatures, and cooking styles. There will be a minimum of 5 mains, plus a welcome snack and dessert.
The menu is not yet fixed (see FAQs at the end of this page for why).
This supper club runs in Beckton, East London, in my home (approximately 6 minutes’ walk from Beckton Park DLR). The full address will be sent the week of the event.

Frequently asked questions
I want to share less common ingredients with guests if they are available, but I don’t want to write a menu for which I cannot source ingredients closer to the event. Planning a fixed menu means choosing from limited ingredients I know I’ll be able to locate. When I go shopping the week of the supper club I look for less common produce so I can build dishes around them. In this way the menu is always fresh and interesting.
I know it can feel daunting to purchase a ticket to a dinner with an unknown menu, but this is my most popular format and I have many repeat guests.
I hit the Thai markets the week of the event to see what fresh ingredients are available. From there I plan the menu to ensure the dishes served maintain a sensory balance between taste, texture, and seasoning.
While there may be a dish or two you find familiar, I try to ensure repeat guests always have a variety of new dishes to try. I like to keep things fresh.
