Muslim Thai vegan supper club
A fusion cuisine born from centuries of cultural exchange, Muslim food in Thailand combines the aromatic spices and cooking techniques of West and South Asia with Thai culinary hallmarks like coconut milk and local fresh herbs.
Islam in Thailand
At least 5% of Thailand’s population identifies as Muslim and their food is a thriving part of Thailand’s food scene, from dishes you may already know like khao mok gai (chicken biryini) and satay to massaman curry and various styles of khao soi. Consider this supper club an introduction to Muslim cuisine in Thailand.
Menu
This supper club will be course based, mainly because I want to serve one of my favourite Muslim Thai dishes: khao mok gai, or Thai style “chicken” biryani. Other menu items include kway teow gaeng (curry noodles with toppings like fried shallots, peanuts, turmeric tofu, and preserved radish), la sae (sliced rolled fresh noodles with coconut “fish” curry), and more.
